Sarah Mikhail

Sarah is an Associate Lawyer with Smith Immigration Law, where she completed her articles. Sarah specializes in immigration and refugee litigation and has appeared before the Federal Court of Canada. She has also represented clients before the Refugee Protection Division, the Refugee Appeal Division, and the Immigration Division.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in 2019, with a double major in Political Science and Sociology, and a minor in Education.  She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa, Common Law section, in 2022.

During her time in law school, Sarah was involved with the Ottawa chapter of the Canadian Association for Refugee Lawyers, serving as Co-Chair for the 2022 Lobbycon Conference, a student-led advocacy conference advocating for progressive refugee and immigration policy on Parliament Hill. During her time in law school, she was also involved with the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic.
